Since 2009, Bridget Andrews has organised a Christmas coffee morning for family and friends at her home in Washington, raising over £3,000 for us.

Last year, Lady Elsie was very pleased to join the group for coffee and cake but this December, because of the pandemic, the usual gathering could not take place.

Not letting COVID-19 hold her back, Bridget has been learning new skills and hosted her 11th annual coffee morning via Zoom this morning, with donations made online instead of a raffle.

Lady Elsie says: “I’d like to thank Bridget and all her family and friends for continuing their fundraising this year.

“I’m very impressed by Bridget’s determination to keep things going and I’d like to congratulate her on mastering new technological skills.”

Because the coffee morning was a virtual one, Bridget was able to welcome friends from as far afield as Hampshire and Bristol, and even those who were unable to attend were kind enough to donate. Our thanks to everyone involved.
