4 runners holding up medals celebrate in the Sir Bobby Foundation tent at the end of the Great North Run

The Great North Run is a wonderful event and Sir Bobby was proud to officially start the race on two occasions.

Many people choose to run in memory of a loved one. Or simply as a challenge to get a little bit fitter. Whatever your reasons for wanting to take part, please consider running for our Foundation.

There are a limited number of charity places available and runners are asked to cover a £50 registration fee and pledge to raise £250 in sponsorship. As ever, Sir Bobby’s family and friends will be in our tent in the Charity Village at the finish with refreshments and thanks.

And, if you already have a place and would like to raise funds, please get in touch. The money raised will help us continue the work Sir Bobby began when he launched this Foundation, finding more effective ways to detect and treat cancer.
