GREAT NORTH RUN 2020 CANCELLATION
By Liz Luff On 15 June 2020 In Uncategorized
It was announced today (15 June) that this year’s Great North Run has been cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 40th Great North Run will now take place on 12 September 2021.
A disappointing decision for all our runners but we know you will share our understanding as to why cancellation is the best option.
Lady Elsie says: “We’re very sorry to hear about the Great North Run but completely understand why the cancellation is necessary.
“It’s such a special event for the region and our supporters and we had over 100 runners fundraising for us this year.
“We appreciate the training and effort people have already put in and it’s good to hear enthusiasm’s already building for next year’s run.”
We will be emailing our runners and more information from Great North Run is available on their website: https://www.greatrun.org/great-north-run
