4 runners holding up medals celebrate in the Sir Bobby Foundation tent at the end of the Great North Run

The Great North Run is a very special event and Sir Bobby was proud to officially start the race on two occasions.

Many people choose to run in memory of a loved one. Or to say thank you for cancer treatment they have received. Or simply as a challenge to get a little bit fitter. Whatever your reasons for wanting to take part, please consider running for our Foundation.

We have a limited number of charity places available for Great North Run 2023 and runners are asked to cover a registration fee and pledge to raise £250 in sponsorship.

If you already have a Great North Run place and would like to raise funds for us in 2023, please get in touch with us here.

Your support will help us continue the work Sir Bobby began when he launched our Foundation, finding more effective ways to detect and treat cancer.
