At this special time of year, I’d like to thank you for your support and interest during 2015 – thankfully, another wonderful year for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

Once again, we have been overwhelmed by the support we have received and, unbelievably, have now raised over £9 million together to help find more effective ways to detect and treat cancer. Bob would be just as amazed as I am.

The amount of effort which has gone into raising the money is truly humbling. In addition to magnificent individual fundraising efforts, and our special partnership with the Newcastle Building Society, it is the sheer volume of relatively small fundraising activities and donations that is enabling us to continue funding truly world-class cancer technology and facilities.

I hope you share my pride in our collective achievements and enjoy reading about our magnificent fundraisers and the work they are enabling us to fund in our annual newsletter, which is now available on this website.

As in previous years, we have re-used the artwork created for the Newcastle upon Tyne NHS Foundation Trust’s annual report to keep production costs as low as possible and this newsletter covers the period, roughly, between last September (2014) and this.

I only wish there was space in the newsletter to thank every person who is helping us continue the work my husband began when he launched his charity.
