SKY’S THE LIMIT FOR WENDY!

After sadly losing a friend to a brain tumour, as well as several family members to cancer, Wendy Thomas from Cumbria decided to take the plunge and fundraise for us by completing a tandem skydive.

It was Wendy’s way of ‘giving back’ and the skydive was taken in honour of her friend David, her Aunty Sylvia, and her Nana Dorothy – known to the family affectionately as ‘Nana Dodo’.

Wendy, who works for the NHS in Cumbria, completed her tandem skydive in July, and she raised a wonderful £210 for us. The total funds raised, £630, were also split between two charities close to Wendy’s heart in Cumbria.

Wendy says: “I absolutely loved the experience. It was a beautiful sunny day and I smiled all the way down. I’m pleased I could support a neighbouring NHS who encompass a great charity.”

A fund within the Newcastle Hospitals Charity, our Foundation funds cutting-edge cancer treatment and innovative cancer support services for children and adults, directly benefiting cancer patients in the North East and Cumbria and playing a significant role in international efforts against the disease.

Our thanks to Wendy and we hope she’s happily come back down to earth now.
