FUN FOR ALL AT CHILDREN’S ACTIVITY DAY!

Children who have been affected by cancer and chronic health issues had the opportunity to enjoy themselves at a very special Fun Day in Newcastle recently.

Part of the children’s support project funded by our Foundation – and The Great North Children’s Hospitals Foundation, which is also a Newcastle Hospitals Charity fund – the activity day included arts and crafts, fun inflatables, games, a magic show and more.

The support project is based in the Great North Children’s Hospital and offers patients respite throughout their treatment, encouraging them to play, laugh, learn and stay active alongside their siblings and family members, keeping youngsters engaged and helping them maintain and grow in self-confidence during and after long days spent in hospital.

As well as engaging on the wards, the project enables young patients to enjoy sport and family activities outside hospital where possible.

The Fun Day was delivered by our partners Newcastle United Foundation at their home, NUCASTLE, and the children thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Parent and carer feedback was fantastic describing the set up, welcoming nature and organisation of the event as “fantastic” and praising the activities for being “well ran and varied so all the children were able to participate.”
