THREE DAYS FOR BOBBY CYCLISTS COMPLETE THEIR CHALLENGE

A huge well done to our Three Days for Bobby cyclists, who completed their ride from Newcastle to Lancaster on Saturday (11 August).

Three Days for Bobby at the Ribble Viaduct

The group of friends describe themselves as ‘not exactly athletes’ and have undertaken nine walking and cycling challenges to support our work.

This year’s ride was all the more personal because Peter Hay, who has previously taken part in Three Days for Bobby, was unable to take join in because he is receiving treatment for cancer.

His sons, Stephen, Graham and Kevin, were on the ride and Peter had hoped to be in Lancaster to see them arrive. Sadly, he was not able to leave the hospital.

Stephen said: “The lads have done a great job again this year, although there was a lot of complaining during the uphill bits!

“Unfortunately, my Dad couldn’t leave hospital to see us finish but he sent his best wishes to everyone.

“We’re all absolutely shattered but we think we’ve raised something like £5,000 for the charity, so it’s all been worthwhile.”

Thank you to all the Three Days for Bobby cyclists and everyone who has supported them – and we wish Peter the best for his cancer treatment.
